REVISED: Calm Down! You Can Still Attend SHPE 2013 at a reasonable rate....

Yet another update! Programs only registration AND Career Fair only is back up! bit.ly/11VkVGz

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Due to some IT system difficulties, I'm revising this post to provide you an alternative method to attend the largest technical Latino conference in the nation..... SHPE2013.  We are currently trying to get "programs only" registration re-opened on the SHPE Website, however this is proving more difficult than anticipated.  Therefore, I am recommending you focus on getting to the event FIRST and then, worry about programs only registration.  We will have unlimited programs-only registrations available for purchase on-site!  So once again, STAY CALM and I hope to see you at SHPE2013 in Indianapolis!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, so you missed the early registration deadline because you were busy planning your Noche Event and got distracted by your midterms.... Then you missed the regular registration Ok, so you missed the early registration deadline because you were busy planning your Noche Event and got distracted by your midterms.... Then you missed the regular registration deadline because football was on and you were now cramming for midterms... I totally understand.  The reasons to attend the conference are numerous and clear and I’m sorry you missed the deadlines…. But…..

I'm here to tell you, Calm Down, It's OK... there's still hope! Here's what you have to do:

1. If you are a student, find 3 other people willing to split a hotel room with you.. or maybe 1 other person if you're a professional and you want to save some dough...

2. Go to Hotels.com or equivalent and search for hotels Thursday to Sunday in close proximity to the Convention Center (you will find many under $200/night or $50 each for 4 people)
3. (REVISION) Go to the conference, go to the front desk and register for "Programs Only" on site.  We will have unlimited on-site registrations for you.

OK now let's do a little math:

Students 4 to a room
  $200 programs-only registration
+$150 hotel ($200/night * 3 nights divided 4 ways)
$350 to attend the conference (not including airfare)  So that's actulaly only $75 more than Reg registration rates!

Professionals 2 to a room
$200 programs-only registration
+$300 hotel ($200/night * 3 nights divided 2 ways)
$500 to attend the conference (not including airfare)

So these are pretty doable I think.  And students, I know you get creative with rooming so I can imagine you finding ways to make that cheaper still.  So what are you waiting for!?
